I have always been drawn to sentiment and nostalgia—to the little things that stay with us long after childhood has passed.

The magnolia tree in your neighbor’s yard that you climbed as a child. The old country church you passed so many times its steeple became part of the landscape of home. The baby deer you still remember seeing run across the road. The old general store where bottled Cokes cost a few cents. The people in a small community, each with their own stories, quirks, and special gifts.

For the past decade, I have been painting these things without fully realizing what connected them.

I thought I was painting animals. Old buildings. Familiar places.

I was painting memories.

My work is inspired by childhood, animals, old landmarks, and the ordinary things that somehow become extraordinary once enough time has passed. The things we may not realize we’ll miss until they belong to another season of our lives.

That is what I hope to capture in every piece I create.

I don’t want to make artwork that is chosen for a room today and forgotten tomorrow. I want to create something that grows with you—something that feels just as at home years from now as it did the day you chose it.

After all these years of creating, there is still something so special about being a part of someone else’s story. My hope is that these animals and paintings become little reminders of childhood, home, laughter, and the places they love.
